Title: Lead Mainframe Developer

Location: Indianapolis, IN / Plano, TX / Boston, MA / Portsmouth, NH / Seattle, WA (Onsite)

Max Rate: $50/hr on C2C

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies including COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, MQ Series, and Xpeditor. The ideal candidate will have hands-on development experience and a strong testing background. This is a development-focused role (not production support). The candidate should be proactive, a quick learner, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, code, test, and maintain mainframe applications.
• Develop and enhance applications using COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, and JCL.
• Participate in unit, integration, and contract testing.
• Assist Quality Assurance teams in validating application functionality.
• Conduct peer reviews of code and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and performance issues.
• Monitor system performance and coordinate with support teams for hardware/software resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotation to resolve application failures.
• Assist in research and issue resolution related to business data processing.
• Collaborate in a virtual team environment and provide technical leadership when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of coding standards and development practices.
