Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Kafka DevOps Engineer with 8–10 years of IT experience and strong expertise in Apache Kafka, DevOps, cloud platforms, automation, and infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Kafka clusters in production, building CI/CD pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automating operational workflows using Python or Java.

The role requires close collaboration with development, operations, and architecture teams to build scalable, secure, and highly available platform solutions while driving operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and reliability engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, administer, and support Apache Kafka clusters in enterprise production environments.
• Build, manage, and maintain Kafka and NoSQL platforms ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop automation tools and scripts using Python or Java to streamline operational tasks and infrastructure management.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Git.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
• Deploy and manage applications across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Monitor Kafka clusters, infrastructure, and applications to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot platform, infrastructure, networking, and application issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes.
• Integrate AI/GenAI capabilities, Agentic AI, or MCP-based automation into platform management and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, SRE, and architecture teams to improve developer productivity and platform efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting solutions to ensure system health.
• Perform production support, incident management, issue triaging, and capacity planning.
• Apply security best practices, vulnerability remediation, CVE analysis, and compliance standards across platform environments.
• Continuously improve platform automation, deployment strategies, and operational processes.

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience administering and supporting Apache Kafka or NoSQL platforms.

• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes-based cloud environments.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments with high availability requirements.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional Agile teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes administration.
• Experience in production support, incident management, issue triaging, and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of security hardening, vulnerability management, CVE remediation, and compliance standards.
• Experience designing self-service platforms and operational automation solutions.
• Exposure to AI-powered operational tools, Agentic AI systems, MCP Servers, or GenAI-based automation.
• Experience implementing observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering best practices.
