Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) Consultant with strong expertise in S/4HANA upgrade projects and SAP integration technologies. The consultant will be responsible for analyzing upgrade impacts, configuring GTS processes, and ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate will have deep functional and technical knowledge of SAP Global Trade Services and experience working with SAP HANA Cloud Integration in complex enterprise environments.
This role will support global trade compliance processes, customs management, and foreign trade operations while ensuring alignment with business requirements and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
SAP GTS Implementation & Configuration
- Design, configure, and implement trade compliance and customs processes using SAP Global Trade Services.
- Support end-to-end trade processes from order creation through shipment, customs clearance, and final payment.
- Ensure compliance with global trade regulations and internal governance policies.
S/4HANA Upgrade & System Impact Analysis
- Analyze upgrade impacts during S/4HANA transformation or migration projects.
- Identify and remediate deprecated functionalities in the GTS module.
- Align legacy solutions with S/4HANA simplification items and best practices.
Integration & Data Management
- Work with integration technologies such as SAP HANA Cloud Integration to connect SAP GTS with enterprise applications.
- Manage interfaces between SAP GTS and ERP systems.
- Ensure smooth data flow for trade compliance and customs documentation.
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and trade compliance teams to gather functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional designs, system configurations, and technical solutions.
- Develop functional specifications for:
- Reports
- Interfaces
- Enhancements
- Workflows
- Forms
Testing & Deployment
- Create detailed test scenarios and test cases for foreign trade processes.
- Support and coordinate testing phases including:
- Unit Testing
- Integration Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Define and execute cutover activities for GTS streams during system go-live.
Production Support & Issue Resolution
- Troubleshoot critical production issues within the SAP Global Trade Services module.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement effective resolutions.
- Monitor system performance and ensure stable production operations.
User Support & Training
- Provide functional guidance and training to business users.
- Develop documentation for system configurations and business processes.
- Promote best practices for SAP GTS usage across the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working with SAP solutions.
- Deep expertise in SAP Global Trade Services.
- Strong experience working on S/4HANA upgrade or migration projects.
- Experience integrating SAP systems using SAP HANA Cloud Integration.
- Strong understanding of:
- Global trade compliance
- Customs management
- Export/import regulations
- Foreign trade processes
- Experience creating functional specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in Agile project environments.
- Ability to work independently with business stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Experience driving projects and coordinating across multiple teams.
