Job Title: Power BI Architect / Senior Developer
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite, No Remote)
Duration: 12+ Months
Priority: New Jersey-based candidates preferred. Candidates from other locations must be willing to relocate and work onsite from Day 1.
Mandatory Requirements

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Architect / Senior Developer to lead the design, implementation, governance, and optimization of enterprise Business Intelligence solutions. This role will be responsible for guiding BI strategy, developing scalable reporting solutions, mentoring development teams, and ensuring alignment with the organization's target-state BI architecture.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, data modeling, cloud-based analytics platforms, and enterprise data architecture while serving as a trusted advisor to both business and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
BI Architecture & Strategy
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale Power BI and Microsoft Fabric solutions.
- Define and maintain target-state BI architecture and reporting standards.
- Establish best practices for report development, deployment, governance, and maintenance.
- Provide architectural guidance for new analytics initiatives.
Microsoft Fabric Implementation
- Design, develop, and optimize Power BI solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
- Implement scalable reporting and analytics architectures within Fabric.
- Support migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives involving Fabric workloads.
- Ensure alignment between enterprise data strategy and Fabric implementation roadmap.
Reporting & Dashboard Development
- Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, scorecards, and analytical solutions.
- Create immersive business intelligence experiences that support data-driven decision-making.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical reporting solutions.
- Develop reusable semantic models and enterprise reporting assets.
Data Modeling & Integration
- Design robust data models using fact and dimension methodologies.
- Build and optimize DAX calculations, measures, KPIs, and business logic.
- Develop and maintain Power Query (M) transformations.
- Integrate multiple data sources using APIs and enterprise integration tools.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Define and implement report security, access controls, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and data access standards.
- Manage report deployment, version control, and lifecycle processes.
- Monitor performance and optimize report efficiency.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Guide and mentor existing BI developers and analysts.
- Review technical designs and validate solution quality.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and technical training.
- Establish development standards and implementation guidelines.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and priorities.
- Collaborate with data engineering, architecture, and leadership teams.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Recommend solutions for reporting challenges and analytics modernization initiatives.
