Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in Business Process Management (BPM) and the Appian Low-Code Platform to support enterprise digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving process automation, workflow optimization, and successful delivery of scalable Appian-based solutions.
This role requires a strong understanding of business process analysis, requirements management, Agile methodologies, and Appian application development concepts.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Conduct workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process discovery sessions.
- Analyze current-state (AS-IS) business processes and define future-state (TO-BE) solutions.
- Translate business requirements into user stories, use cases, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, product managers, and project teams.
- Facilitate requirement reviews and obtain stakeholder sign-offs.
Business Process Management (BPM)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, optimization, and automation.
- Create process maps, BPMN diagrams, workflow models, and decision trees.
- Define process KPIs and performance metrics.
- Analyze process bottlenecks and recommend scalable solutions.
- Utilize Appian Process Modeling capabilities to design end-to-end business workflows.
Appian Solution Analysis
- Work closely with Appian Developers, Architects, and QA teams to design and implement solutions.
- Support development activities involving:
- Appian Process Models
- Records
- SAIL Interfaces
- Reports & Dashboards
- Decision Rules
- Expression Rules
- Integration Objects
- REST/SOAP API Integrations
- Validate solution designs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Participate in solution reviews and impact assessments.
Requirements Management & Documentation
- Develop and maintain:
- Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
- Functional Specification Documents (FSDs)
- Process Flow Diagrams
- User Stories & Epics
- Acceptance Criteria
- Traceability Matrices
- Ensure complete requirement traceability throughout the SDLC.
- Maintain documentation for compliance, governance, and audit purposes.
Agile Delivery & Team Collaboration
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including:
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Stand-Ups
- Backlog Grooming
- Sprint Reviews
- Retrospectives
- Assist Product Owners in prioritizing product backlogs.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect triage activities.
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Business Analysis
- 7+ years of Business Analysis experience.
- Strong expertise in requirements elicitation, process analysis, and stakeholder management.
- Experience creating BRDs, FSDs, user stories, workflows, and process documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
BPM & Process Improvement
- Hands-on experience with Business Process Management methodologies.
- Expertise in BPMN, process modeling, workflow optimization, and process automation.
- Experience with process improvement frameworks and KPI-driven analysis.
Appian Platform
- Strong understanding of the Appian Low-Code Platform.
- Experience working with:
- Appian Process Modeler
- SAIL Interfaces
- Records
- Reports
- Expression Rules
- Decision Rules
- REST/SOAP Integrations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Appian developers and architects.
Agile Methodology
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with backlog management, sprint planning, and Agile documentation.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Appian Business Analyst or Appian Certified Associate certification.
- Experience supporting enterprise workflow automation initiatives.
- Knowledge of digital transformation and low-code application development.
- Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Product Owner or Scrum-related certifications are a plus.
