Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Appian Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale Business Process Management (BPM) solutions using the Appian platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Appian architecture, process automation, integrations, data modeling, security, performance optimization, and enterprise application modernization.

This role requires hands-on technical leadership, architecture governance, and the ability to design scalable, secure, and high-performing Appian solutions while mentoring development teams and collaborating with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Appian Architecture & Solution Design

• Define and own end-to-end Appian solution architecture, including process models, data models, integrations, security frameworks, and deployment strategies.
• Design scalable, resilient, and high-performance BPM applications aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Develop architecture blueprints, technical roadmaps, reusable frameworks, and Appian Center of Excellence (CoE) assets.
• Lead architecture reviews and ensure compliance with Appian best practices and governance standards.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Appian Development Leadership

• Provide hands-on leadership in:
• SAIL User Interfaces
• Process Models
• Records
• CDTs (Custom Data Types)
• Expression Rules
• Interfaces
• Process Reports
• Guide development teams on Appian low-code development best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and establish coding standards across development teams.
• Troubleshoot complex application and process-related issues.

Integration Architecture

• Architect and implement integrations with enterprise applications and third-party systems.
• Design and develop integrations using:
• REST APIs
• SOAP Web Services
• Kafka
• IBM MQ
• Messaging Platforms
• AI Platforms
• RPA Solutions
• Support integration strategies for core banking and financial applications including TCS BaNCS environments.
• Define enterprise integration patterns and reusable services.

Data Architecture & Database Management

• Design enterprise data strategies utilizing Appian Data Fabric and external databases.
• Architect and optimize solutions leveraging:
• Oracle Database
• SQL Server
• PostgreSQL
• Define logical and physical data models supporting Appian applications.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, security, and performance.

Performance Optimization

• Analyze and optimize application performance across:
• Process Execution
• User Interface Rendering
• Database Queries
• System Integrations
• Implement performance optimization techniques including:
• Caching
• Indexing
• Asynchronous Processing
• Load Distribution
• Scalability Enhancements
• Monitor and improve application responsiveness and throughput.

Security, Compliance & Governance

• Define and enforce Appian security architecture and governance standards.
• Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and enterprise security policies.
• Ensure compliance with:
• SOX
• GDPR
• HIPAA
• Enterprise Security Standards
• Implement data protection, audit controls, and access management policies.
• Establish development and deployment governance practices.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for Appian applications.
• Automate application deployment, testing, and environment management.
• Support DevOps best practices and release management processes.
• Manage development, testing, staging, and production environments.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, QA teams, and project leadership.
• Facilitate solution design workshops and architecture discussions.
• Mentor Appian developers and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and Appian platform adoption.
• Provide recommendations on platform enhancements and modernization opportunities.
