Job Title: Technical Project Manager – Data Engineering & Modernization

Job Summary
We are seeking a technically strong Project Manager / Delivery Manager with prior hands-on experience as a Developer or Technical Lead and a strong background in data engineering, infrastructure management, and data modernization initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical understanding and proven experience managing complex data migration and data platform transformation programs within the Investment Management or Asset Management domain. Candidates with only banking experience will not be considered.
This role requires strong leadership, technical depth, agile delivery expertise, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional global teams while driving successful delivery of enterprise-scale data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Delivery Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of:
- Data migration initiatives
- Data platform modernization programs
- Enterprise data transformation projects
- Manage project planning, execution, governance, and delivery across onshore and offshore teams.
- Develop and maintain:
- Project plans
- Migration roadmaps
- Sprint backlogs
- Delivery milestones
- Status reports
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations.
Technical Leadership & Data Engineering Oversight
- Leverage prior hands-on development or technical lead experience to guide engineering teams effectively.
- Collaborate closely with:
- Engineering teams
- Infrastructure teams
- Data architects
- Platform teams
- Drive technical discussions, solution alignment, and architecture reviews.
- Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, dependencies, and design gaps proactively.
- Define mitigation and resolution strategies for complex delivery challenges.
Data Migration & Modernization
- Lead enterprise-scale:
- Data migrations
- Data platform buildouts
- Data modernization initiatives
- Support development and management of:
- Data pipelines
- ETL frameworks
- Data orchestration workflows
- Streaming data services
- Ensure smooth migration and transformation of large-scale enterprise datasets.
Agile Delivery & Stakeholder Management
- Drive Agile project execution including:
- Sprint planning
- Backlog management
- Daily standups
- Delivery tracking
- Facilitate collaboration between business and technical teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and milestones to stakeholders and leadership.
- Ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solutions.
