Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Telecom / Telephony Project Manager to lead and deliver enterprise telecommunications and voice infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in telephony systems, VoIP implementations, contact center technologies, telecom migrations, and unified communications platforms.
The candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end telecom initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring timely project delivery, and driving successful telecom transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for telephony and telecom infrastructure initiatives.
- Manage projects involving:
- VoIP implementations
- PBX systems
- SIP trunking
- Unified Communications (UCaaS)
- Contact center platforms
- Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with IT teams, network engineers, vendors, business stakeholders, and telecom providers.
- Oversee migration of legacy telephony systems to modern cloud-based VoIP solutions.
- Monitor project progress, issues, dependencies, and provide regular status updates to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with telecom standards, security policies, and governance requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships, deliverables, negotiations, and performance tracking.
- Conduct system testing, validation, user acceptance, and go-live activities.
- Drive cost optimization and process improvements for telecom operations.
- Maintain project documentation, change logs, issue logs, and technical artifacts.
- Support Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.
- 8–12+ years of experience in Telecom/IT Project Management.
- Strong knowledge of telecom and voice technologies:
- VoIP
- Cisco Telephony
- Avaya
- Microsoft Teams Calling
- PBX Systems
- SIP Trunking
- Unified Communications (UCaaS)
- Experience managing telecom migration and transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of network concepts:
- LAN/WAN
- QoS
- VPN
- Network communication protocols
- Experience with:
- Contact Center Solutions
- IVR
- ACD
- Call Routing Systems
- Familiarity with cloud telephony platforms:
- Microsoft Teams
- Zoom Phone
- Genesys
- NICE
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with:
- Agile
- Waterfall
- Hybrid project methodologies
- Strong risk management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or PRINCE2 Certification preferred.
- Experience in enterprise telecom infrastructure modernization projects.
- Knowledge of telecom regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Experience working with telecom vendors and service providers.
