Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced API Management & Microservices Engineer with strong expertise in Python, Java, Kong API Gateway, and Microservices Architecture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, managing, and migrating enterprise API platforms while ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing integrations across distributed systems.
The role requires hands-on experience in API Gateway technologies, API lifecycle management, microservices development, and cloud-native integration patterns. Experience with Kong migration projects is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
API Management & Gateway Engineering
- Design, develop, configure, and manage enterprise API Gateway solutions using Kong API Gateway.
- Support API lifecycle management including API creation, deployment, versioning, monitoring, and security.
- Lead or support Kong API Gateway migration initiatives and modernization projects.
- Configure API policies, routing, authentication, throttling, rate limiting, and traffic management.
- Implement secure API integrations using OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS, and API security best practices.
Application & Microservices Development
- Develop scalable microservices and backend services using Python and Java.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and service integrations.
- Build and support distributed microservices architectures for enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with frontend, backend, DevOps, and infrastructure teams for end-to-end integrations.
Integration & Cloud Support
- Integrate APIs with enterprise applications, third-party systems, and cloud platforms.
- Troubleshoot API connectivity, latency, routing, and performance issues.
- Support cloud-native and containerized application environments.
- Participate in CI/CD deployment and automation activities.
Performance, Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor API traffic, gateway performance, and application health.
- Analyze logs and troubleshoot production issues related to APIs and microservices.
- Optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure high availability and operational stability of API platforms.
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements and define API solutions.
- Provide technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational support.
