Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Engineer with strong core Java fundamentals and experience building large-scale, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with Spring Boot, Kafka, cloud-native technologies, and modern DevOps practices, and will play a key role across the full software development lifecycle.
This role requires local Phoenix-based candidates who can attend in-person interviews and work in a hybrid onsite model.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development & Architecture
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale Java backend applications
- Build microservices using Java and Spring Boot
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs
- Apply best practices in object-oriented design and design patterns
- Own all technical aspects of assigned applications
Software Engineering Excellence
- Participate in full SDLC: analysis, design, build, testing, and deployment
- Write high-quality unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito
- Improve code coverage and maintain quality using SonarQube
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in test and production environments
- Optimize applications for sub-second performance
Cloud, DevOps & Observability
- Work in cloud environments (public or private preferred)
- Containerization and orchestration using:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Helm
- Build and manage using:
- Gradle / Maven
- Git
- Monitor and tune applications using Dynatrace
- Perform performance tuning and reliability improvements
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Work closely with Product Owners to prioritize features and technical backlog
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies
- Identify opportunities to adopt new technologies and innovation
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
