Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Actuary Consultant with an ACAS or FCAS designation to support advanced actuarial analysis and financial risk evaluation for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance portfolios. The ideal candidate will be based in or near San Antonio and possess strong experience in pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, and insurance analytics.
This role will support business strategy, regulatory compliance, and financial planning through actuarial insights and data-driven recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Actuarial Analysis & Modeling
- Perform advanced actuarial analysis for Property & Casualty insurance portfolios.
- Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing and reserving.
- Conduct loss reserving and profitability analysis.
- Build predictive models to support underwriting and pricing decisions.
Financial Risk & Pricing
- Evaluate financial risk and recommend pricing strategies.
- Analyze trends impacting insurance portfolios.
- Support rate filings and pricing strategies.
- Assess portfolio performance and profitability.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and actuarial standards.
- Support regulatory filings and documentation.
- Maintain actuarial documentation and methodologies.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices.
Business Support & Strategy
- Provide actuarial insights to support strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and risk teams.
- Present actuarial findings to stakeholders.
- Support financial planning and forecasting.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and risks.
- Develop actuarial reports and dashboards.
- Validate data and actuarial assumptions.
- Communicate results clearly to business stakeholders.
Required Skills
- ACAS or FCAS designation from the Casualty Actuarial Society.
- 8–10 years of actuarial experience in Property & Casualty insurance.
- Strong experience in actuarial pricing and reserving.
- Experience with predictive modeling techniques.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills.
- Experience in financial risk analysis.
- Knowledge of actuarial methodologies and standards.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
