Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled MFA Engineer to lead workforce authentication hardening initiatives across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions while ensuring secure and resilient authentication flows across multiple Identity Providers (IDPs) including Microsoft Entra ID, ForgeRock, RSA, and ADFS.
The engineer will be responsible for strengthening enterprise authentication security, remediating weak MFA methods, supporting rollout strategies, and ensuring seamless MFA enforcement across federated and brokered authentication environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer, deploy, configure, and support enterprise MFA solutions including Duo, Okta Verify, Microsoft MFA, ForgeRock MFA, RSA, and ADFS.
- Identify applications without MFA coverage and define enterprise rollout strategies.
- Assess and remediate weak or legacy MFA methods such as OTP, mobile PINs, and voice-based helpdesk authentication.
- Design and implement secure MFA controls across workforce authentication flows.
- Configure adaptive authentication, device trust, conditional access, and step-up authentication policies.
- Ensure MFA enforcement across federated and brokered authentication environments.
- Perform vulnerability remediation for MFA components including proxies, gateways, agents, and authentication services.
- Provide L2/L3 support for MFA-related incidents including enrollment failures, user lockouts, latency issues, and integration troubleshooting.
- Manage upgrades, patching, certificate rotations, and secret management for MFA infrastructure.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, endpoint, IAM, and application teams to ensure secure MFA deployments.
- Support pilot implementations, enterprise rollouts, and adoption initiatives with minimal business disruption.
- Define secure exception handling, fallback authentication methods, and support desk procedures.
- Document configurations, remediation evidence, operational procedures, and audit artifacts.
- Participate in incident response and compliance-related activities.
Required Skills
- 8–10 years of experience in Identity & Access Management and MFA engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience implementing enterprise MFA solutions for workforce users.
- Expertise with Microsoft Entra MFA, ForgeRock MFA, RSA SecureID, ADFS, Duo, and Okta Verify.
- Deep understanding of authentication protocols and federated authentication flows.
- Experience configuring adaptive authentication, conditional access, device trust, and step-up authentication.
- Strong experience with vulnerability remediation and secure MFA configurations.
- Knowledge of certificate management, secret rotation, and secure authentication architecture.
- Experience troubleshooting complex MFA and authentication integration issues.
- Ability to collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on rollout planning and technical constraints.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with phishing-resistant authentication solutions.
- Familiarity with passwordless authentication technologies.
- Experience in regulated or high-security enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise authentication environments.
