Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support a global financial services environment. This role bridges business, data, and technology, enabling data-driven decision-making and ensuring the reliable delivery of critical data platforms.
The ideal candidate will have strong capital markets domain knowledge, hands-on SQL expertise, and experience managing end-to-end data onboarding, BAU support, and production issue resolution within an Agile framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery and support of financial data products from requirement gathering to production support
- Act as the primary Technical BSA for BAU and production issues, driving root cause analysis, resolution, and prevention
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, including data mappings, transformations, and validation rules
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to analyze existing data logic, review SQL/code, and validate implementations
- Perform hands-on data analysis using SQL to troubleshoot, validate, and resolve production issues
- Monitor and ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity, proactively identifying and resolving issues
- Work within an Agile delivery model, contributing to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and user story definition
- Partner with Front Office, Risk, Operations, and downstream teams to ensure alignment and clarity on data requirements
- Ensure production-grade data solutions with strong focus on stability, traceability, auditability, and resilience
- Drive continuous improvement in BAU processes, controls, and documentation
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and improved data governance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
- 10+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst / Data Analyst
- Proven experience in Investment Management or Asset Management domain (Mandatory)
- Hands-on experience supporting trading, investment, risk, or regulatory data platforms
- Strong understanding of financial services data domains and capital markets
- Experience owning BAU and production support issues end-to-end
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment with multiple priorities
Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL expertise:
- Writing, optimizing, and reviewing complex queries
- Data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server)
- Ability to read and interpret SQL, Python, or Java code
- Strong knowledge of:
- Source-to-target mappings
- Data transformations and enrichment
- Historical vs “as-of” data handling
- Data quality, reconciliation, and control frameworks
- Understanding of data flows, system integrations, and enterprise architectures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data governance, automation, or process optimization initiatives
- Exposure to global delivery models / distributed teams
