Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead – Java Kafka with strong expertise in Java-based enterprise application development, Kafka messaging systems, cloud technologies, and microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will lead development teams, design scalable solutions, and drive technical excellence across the project lifecycle.
The candidate should possess hands-on experience in Spring Boot, Kafka, Drools Rule Engine (BAMOE), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), containerization technologies, and observability tools. This role requires strong leadership, architecture, and problem-solving skills along with deep technical expertise in distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance Java-based applications and architectures.
- Lead and mentor development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and product teams to gather and analyze technical requirements.
- Develop event-driven and microservices-based solutions using Kafka and Spring Boot.
- Implement business rules and workflows using Drools Rule Management System (BAMOE).
- Define technical standards, coding guidelines, and development best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality and security standards.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle and MongoDB.
- Develop and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Integrate observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and OpenTelemetry.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory requirements.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and production releases.
- Identify technical risks, troubleshoot issues, and provide effective solutions.
- Document architecture designs, technical decisions, and implementation approaches.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Advanced Java Concepts and Core Java.
- Hands-on expertise with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience implementing Drools Rule Engine / BAMOE.
- Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture and Event-Driven Systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Expertise in Hibernate, JPA, and ORM frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS and MongoDB/NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of API development, integration patterns, and distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading enterprise-scale Java development teams.
- Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD implementation.
- Strong understanding of system scalability, resiliency, and security best practices.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
