Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Generative AI Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale AI and Generative AI solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), AI frameworks, vector databases, cloud deployments, and Responsible AI practices. This role requires strong architectural leadership, strategic vision, and hands-on experience in building scalable AI platforms and solutions.

The candidate must be local to McLean, VA and available for onsite work and in-person interviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise-wide AI and Generative AI solution architectures.
• Define strategic AI roadmaps, standards, governance models, and enterprise AI best practices.
• Architect and implement solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI frameworks.
• Develop scalable AI applications leveraging vector databases, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and semantic search technologies.
• Lead cloud-native AI deployments across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, data scientists, and product owners to deliver AI-driven solutions.
• Establish Responsible AI practices including explainability, bias mitigation, governance, security, and ethical AI implementation.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance enterprise AI capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to development teams.
• Ensure AI solutions meet scalability, reliability, security, and performance standards.
• Create architecture documentation, solution blueprints, and technical standards for AI initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of overall IT experience with strong expertise in AI/ML architecture.
• Extensive experience with Generative AI technologies and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Hands-on expertise with AI frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face, OpenAI, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
• Strong experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, FAISS, or Milvus.
• Experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Strong cloud deployment experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of AI governance, Responsible AI, model evaluation, and AI security practices.
• Experience designing scalable microservices-based AI architectures.
• Strong understanding of APIs, data pipelines, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise AI transformation initiatives.
• Certifications in Cloud Platforms or AI/ML technologies.
• Experience with MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with NLP, semantic search, prompt engineering, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Exposure to enterprise data architecture and big data ecosystems.
