Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS to support development and vulnerability remediation efforts. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in legacy systems, performance optimization, and modernization initiatives including migration to distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS
• Work on end-to-end application development, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability
• Participate in legacy system modernization and migration to distributed platforms
• Analyze and remediate security vulnerabilities in mainframe applications
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with coding standards and best practices
• Monitor and optimize application performance and system efficiency
• Work with middleware/APIs for system integrations
• Follow SDLC methodologies including Agile, CI/CD, testing, and documentation standards
• Provide on-call support on a rotational basis
• Collaborate with technical teams, product owners, and stakeholders
• Work independently and take ownership of business and technical requirements

Required Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in Mainframe Development
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
• COBOL
• JCL
• DB2
• VSAM
• CICS
• Experience with ChangeMan, File Aid/File Manager, DFSORT, Syncsort, and Easytrieve
• Strong understanding of application performance tuning and optimization
• Experience in legacy system migration to distributed systems
• Knowledge of API integration through middleware
• Experience in vulnerability remediation and application security
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Agile/Lean/XP environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Exposure to software and product security standards
