- Strong Java Development + Spring Boot + Microservices experience (client preference)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SDET / Quality Engineer with expertise in Java, Automation Testing, and Mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building test frameworks, APIs, and automation solutions, while also contributing to AI/ML-driven testing innovations. This is a client-facing role requiring strong communication and coordination skills, especially within the banking domain.
Key Responsibilities:
Testing & Quality Engineering
- Lead end-to-end testing of applications, including mainframe systems
- Design and execute:
- Test strategies
- Test cases and scenarios
- Functional, integration, and regression testing
- Perform defect tracking, root cause analysis, and resolution
Automation & Development
- Build and maintain automation frameworks
- Develop:
- APIs and backend services (Java, Spring Boot, Microservices)
- Selenium / Appium test scripts
- Write and maintain JUnit test cases
- Implement service virtualization for API stubbing
Mainframe & Data Validation
- Perform testing on mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2)
- Validate data integrity and business logic using SQL
- Work with data management tools (Elasticsearch, Kibana)
DevOps & Cloud Integration
- Work with containerization tools:
- Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
- Support CI/CD and integration workflows
AI/ML & Innovation
- Contribute to AI/ML-based testing capabilities
- Explore and implement intelligent automation solutions
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with:
- Developers, business stakeholders, and QA teams
- Participate in:
- Code reviews
- Agile ceremonies
- Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8–10 years of overall IT experience
- Strong expertise in:
- Java (4+ years), Spring Boot, Microservices
- Automation Testing (Selenium / Appium)
- Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Software testing principles and frameworks
- API testing and service virtualization
- Experience with:
- SQL (advanced queries and data validation)
- Test management tools (JIRA, ALM)
- Strong understanding of banking domain processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Technical Skills:
- Java / Spring Boot / Microservices
- Selenium / Appium / Automation Frameworks
- Mainframe (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2)
- Docker / Kubernetes / OpenShift
- Elasticsearch / Kibana
- SQL / API Testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Playwright (TypeScript)
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies
- Exposure to AI/ML in testing
