Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake & dbt Platform Engineer to design, implement, and manage a modern enterprise data platform leveraging Snowflake and dbt technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud data platforms, data governance, CI/CD automation, and enterprise-scale data architecture.

This role involves building scalable and secure Snowflake environments, implementing dbt frameworks and standards, enabling self-service analytics, and supporting enterprise data governance initiatives. The candidate should possess strong DevOps, automation, and cloud integration experience within modern data engineering ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Snowflake Platform Engineering

• Design, configure, and administer end-to-end Snowflake platform environments including:
• Accounts
• Databases
• Schemas
• Warehouses
• Roles and permissions
• Implement scalable and cost-optimized Snowflake architecture using:
• Auto-scaling
• Clustering
• Resource monitors
• Manage Snowflake security models including:
• RBAC
• Masking policies
• Row-level security
• Support platform optimization, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Snowflake Governance & Data Sharing

• Implement and administer Snowflake Horizon governance framework.
• Enable data lineage, classification, governance, and compliance capabilities.
• Build and manage enterprise data marketplace and secure data sharing solutions.
• Enable governed self-service analytics capabilities for business users.

dbt Framework & Data Modeling

• Establish and manage dbt Core/dbt Cloud framework and deployment standards.
• Design and enforce enterprise data modeling standards including:
• Staging layers
• Curated layers
• Semantic models
• Develop reusable and scalable dbt transformation pipelines.
• Implement dbt testing, documentation, and observability best practices.

Integration & Orchestration

• Integrate Snowflake and dbt with enterprise ingestion and orchestration tools such as:
• Apache Airflow
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Fivetran
• Support enterprise data pipeline orchestration and workflow automation.

DevOps & Automation

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake and dbt deployments.
• Implement DevOps best practices for data platform engineering.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and operational processes using scripting and cloud-native tools.

Data Quality & Observability

• Implement data quality validation frameworks using dbt tests and monitoring tools.
• Enable platform observability, monitoring, and proactive issue detection.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and governance across enterprise data environments.

Collaboration & Support

• Collaborate with data engineers, analytics teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance, platform support, and best practice recommendations.
• Stay current with Snowflake ecosystem advancements including:
• Snowflake Horizon
• Snowpark
• Marketplace
• Native Apps

Required Skills

• 6–8 years of experience in Data Engineering or Cloud Data Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake platform administration and architecture.
• Experience implementing and managing dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling best practices and ELT frameworks.
• Experience with Snowflake governance, security, and data sharing capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Python
• AWS Cloud
• CI/CD pipelines
• DevOps processes
• Experience integrating Snowflake with:
• Airflow
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Fivetran
• Strong understanding of RBAC, data masking, and row-level security.
• Experience implementing data quality and observability frameworks.
• Strong SQL and cloud data warehouse optimization skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Snowflake Horizon and Snowpark.
• Experience supporting enterprise analytics and self-service BI platforms.
• Knowledge of modern data governance and cataloging frameworks.
• Familiarity with enterprise data marketplaces and secure data sharing.
• Exposure to Agile and DevOps methodologies.
