Senior BI Developer – Power BI / Finance

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior BI Developer with strong expertise in Power BI, Tableau, and Azure Data Engineering technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing enterprise-level dashboards, developing scalable data pipelines, optimizing BI performance, and delivering actionable business insights. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support analytics and reporting initiatives across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau.
• Implement advanced data modeling, DAX calculations, and BI performance optimization techniques.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Databricks.
• Develop and manage SSAS Tabular Models and optimize query performance.
• Integrate dashboards and reporting solutions into enterprise applications.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are followed.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting and analytics requirements.
• Create technical documentation, data mappings, and solution specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve BI-related issues within defined SLA timelines.
• Support enterprise analytics initiatives and continuous improvement of reporting platforms.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and Tableau development.
• Expertise in Power BI Architecture, DAX, Power Query (M Language), and report sharing strategies.
• Experience designing complex Tableau dashboards and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in data extraction and transformation.
• Experience with Azure BI and Data Engineering services.
• Knowledge of ETL processes, schema design, and data modeling concepts.
• Experience with SSAS, XMLA endpoints, and semantic modeling.
• Exposure to Python is a plus.
• Experience with Looker and Dynamics 365 is preferred.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

 

Technical Skills

 

Top 3 Required Skills:

1. Advanced expertise in Power BI (DAX, data modeling, Power Query)

2. Strong experience with Azure Data Engineering (ADF, Databricks, ADLS, SSAS)

3. Strong SQL and experience in building ETL/ELT data pipelines

Top 3 Preferred Skills:

1. Experience in finance reporting / financial analytics

2. Tableau dashboard development and optimization

3. Experience with Python / advanced analytics tools

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

Years of Experience:

• 10+ years in BI development and data engineering
