Job Title: AI Engineer Lead / Backend Engineering Lead

Location: Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer Lead / Backend Engineering Lead to design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems, APIs, automation workflows, and AI-assisted development solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python and/or Node.js along with experience leveraging AI-powered coding tools to accelerate development while maintaining enterprise engineering standards.

This role requires deep technical expertise in backend engineering, API integrations, cloud-native development, DevOps practices, and AI-assisted software delivery. The candidate will collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to build production-ready enterprise applications and automation platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development & Engineering

Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, automation workflows, and reusable software components using Python and/or Node.js.

Develop enterprise-grade integrations across applications, databases, APIs, and cloud platforms.

Build secure, high-performance, and maintainable microservices architectures.

Support rapid prototyping and experimentation while ensuring solutions mature into production-ready systems.

AI-Assisted Development

Utilize AI-assisted coding tools such as Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to improve engineering productivity.

Review, validate, debug, refactor, and optimize AI-generated code for:

Performance

Security

Scalability

Maintainability

Code quality

Implement best practices for AI-assisted software development workflows.

Troubleshooting & Optimization

Troubleshoot issues across:

Application logic

APIs

Apigee platforms

Databases

Enterprise integrations

Deployment pipelines

Production environments

Identify root causes and implement long-term scalable fixes.

Improve system reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.

DevOps & Engineering Standards

Follow established coding standards, DevOps practices, documentation guidelines, and enterprise engineering frameworks.

Participate in CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment support activities.
