Job Title: Business Analyst – Commercial & Specialty Insurance

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) and Specialty Insurance to support business transformation initiatives across underwriting, claims, and policy administration functions. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to gather requirements, optimize processes, and drive digital transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders across Commercial, Specialty, and potentially Crop Insurance business lines.
Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and system requirements.
Conduct process mapping and gap analysis for current-state (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) workflows.
Support modernization, automation, AI, and digital transformation initiatives.
Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, and release validation.
Facilitate communication between business users, product owners, and technical teams.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Ensure requirements align with business objectives and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
6–10 years of Business Analysis experience within the Insurance industry.
Strong domain expertise in Commercial and Specialty Insurance.
Knowledge of Commercial Lines:
General Liability (GL)
Commercial Property
Commercial Auto
Workers Compensation
Umbrella Liability
Knowledge of Specialty Lines:
Directors & Officers (D&O)
Errors & Omissions (E&O)
Cyber Insurance
Professional Liability
Hands-on experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder management.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Familiarity with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar policy administration systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with digital transformation or insurance modernization programs.
Exposure to AI-driven business initiatives and workflow automation.
Knowledge of policy administration, underwriting, claims, and insurance operations.
Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or Agile/Scrum certifications are a plus.
