Title: Senior Java Developer – AI & Cloud Platforms
Location: Sunnyvale, Ca or Austin, TX
Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with AI exposure to design, develop, and deploy highly scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Java and distributed systems, strong hands-on experience with MongoDB, modern microservices architecture, and cloud-native deployments on AWS. The role also requires practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as RooCode and Claude to enhance productivity, code quality, and system design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop highly available, distributed, and scalable enterprise systems.
- Build and maintain microservices-based architectures using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop high-throughput, low-latency systems with zero-downtime deployments.
- Implement data persistence and caching using MongoDB and Redis.
- Develop and manage event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
- Deploy, scale, and manage applications on AWS, including EKS cluster management.
- Use AI development tools (RooCode, Claude) for code generation, refactoring, testing, and architectural reviews.
- Perform application performance tuning, including JVM tuning, memory profiling, heap analysis, and deadlock troubleshooting.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, PR reviews, and automated deployments.
- Ensure system observability and monitoring using tools such as Splunk.
- Develop and maintain customer-facing web applications with strong understanding of HTTP specifications, load balancing, and CDN architecture.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests using JUnit, TestNG, and related frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across architecture, DevOps, QA, and product.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Technical Skills:
- 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture
- Hands-on experience with Redis, Kafka
- Strong experience with AWS deployments, auto-scaling, and EKS (Kubernetes)
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as RooCode and Claude
- Expertise in high-performance and high-availability system design
- Strong knowledge of JVM internals, performance tuning, and memory management
- Experience with Git, PR processes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Splunk for system monitoring and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, load balancing, and CDN concepts
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG)
